Debbie, age thirteen, lives with her mother in a little gold house by the river. Her mother runs the Enterprise Newspaper and Debbie wants to be a reporter when she grows up. Being an only child is hard with her mother working long hours. Sometimes Debbie must be alone at home and finds ways to entertain herself.
